Google now uses ‘mobile-readiness’ to rank websites. Is your website ready?

With Google’s recent change to its search algorithms which factors in a website’s “mobile-friendliness” as a ranking signal, it may be time to check if YOUR website lives up to Google’s new standards. You can go here and enter your website’s URL to see if your website is ‘mobile-friendly’: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/mobile-friendly.

If your target audience often use their mobile devices to browse websites and your website is not mobile friendly, then it may be time to upgrade. Otherwise, there is no big reason for concern: Google has clarified that the changes will only affect a sites search ranking on mobile devices, and the change only applies to individual pages, not your entire website. Google also stated that it only impacts searches done on smartphones, not tablets.

We hope you found this information useful and would love to hear from you about upgrading your website. With acknowledgement and thanks to our friends at FirstPage for the excellent image graphic.
